I expect this answer is on the forum somewhere but please can someone advise when it's best to harvest:
Beans
Beetroot
Onions
Cucumber
What I mean is how can you tell dwarf beans are ready to be picked eg would it be the size of the bean inside the pod? Some beans are smaller than others.
The beetroot and onion are growing out of the ground, so I can see the size. Although planted at the same time, some are much bigger than others. How do I know which one is ready to pick?
The cucumbers are the small fat and prickly variety, they are about five inches long but one is not quite dark green all over, ie some light patches. Again, are they ripe for picking? Your help much appreciated. Thank you.
