    What's wrong with green soup?
I don't mind what colour my soup is so long as it tastes delish. Shame the rainbow chard doesn't make your soup multi coloured...

Chard is rapidly becoming one of my favourite veggies, I've got approximately 12 two year old plants courtesy of the previous plot owner but i'm also in the process of using it as a border around the edge of the plot mainly to stop people walking over my newly sown seedlings so in all i'll have roughly 150 plants.I'm sure if i cut and come again as i have been doing it wont get too out of hand size wise. It is fantastic as a substitute for spinach in any currys as well as stir fry's including most of the stem as long as its not too woody (after it's bolted)or just plain and simply blanched I'll have to try the flan recipe Thanks Earthbabe.... might make a nice quiche too with some strong cheese.
If Bindweed was edible i'd be a multi millionaire with a chain of restaurants selling the stuff with the amount I have on my plot.

By "green" I didn't mean colour Scruffy Duffy. Not everybody likes soup too strongly flavoured of "green" vegetables. They like the flavour of something else with the Greens added. Like tomato soup with greens in the bottom but not the all pervading flavour.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Ah, I see what you mean now. I have to admit I've never used any greens in my soups, unless you count shredded cabbage, but I certainly will be once I've got some growiung. Although I will take your sound advice and not add to much. Like the idea of putting some in the bottom first.

Nudger - I love the sound of the border. You'll have to post some pictures once it's in 'full bloom'.
