Shallots from seed

I didn't have much luck with the Banana Shallots I tried growing from sets this year and wasn't going to bother with them again...

... then I spotted a couple of packs of seeds in the 50p a pack scramble at my local garden centre!

Can I sow in trays now and keep in an unheated greenhouse until planting out in the spring?

Hmmmmmmmmm! Thanks TS, I suspected I was being a wee bit too eager but had heard murmurs on the plot of sowing some super early!

Ah well, "late winter" it is; I'd better get OH to hide the packs so I don't get tempted before then!

Banana shallots are not grown from sets but you can grow them to save the seed for next year.
