Planting Leeks - 6" or 9"?

    Mine are planted just over 3" apart with a 12" length of 3" drainpipe over them for blanching. If they manage to get 3" in diameter I'll be very lucky.

      I would say that you may be a bit late, however, you've got the seedlings, you may as well give it a go. You could try popping a poly grow tunnel over the top and see if that helps?

      Edited to add:

      It shouldn't slow the growth as you pull them, before they get close enough to constrict each other.
