I grew tigerella, Roma, costoluto fiorentino, Gardeners delight, Cerise Cherry, Principe Borghese, San Marzano, Moneymaker, Yellow Stuffer and Orkado.... the Orkado and yellow stuffer i never got a fruit from.. the best for amount were san marzano, gardeners delight and principe borghese, the best for flavour were the principe borghese and the most versatile too, they are like mini plum so cook nice but are so sweet they are lovely in salad next year i'm gonna do GD, PB, SM plus i'm giving ailsa craig and sungold a go... the ones i grew outside were pants inside not so bad, still getting red ones now

This year we've had Gardener's Delight and Moneymaker grown by OH from bought seed. Not as many as other years, but no complaints.

I grew Gardener's Delight and Brandywine from saved seed. It was those plants' third year of seeds* being saved and they worked out well. Again, not as many as other years, but not too bad, and have hopefully saved some of each for next year.

I recommend saving the seeds, it's interesting and might save a trip to the GC.

*At this stage I look on them as being local lads, used to growing here.

Sungold was my favourite from this season, had lots of sweet ripe fruit despite my plants being less then happy.

My Sungold are finally cropping quite well, and are very tasty. The pink brandy wine are delicious but I have only had about 2 fruits from each plant, so not very productive. The black Cherokee were also lovely to eat, and amazing to look at, but again the season was not good for them production-wise. Ferline f1 is cropping now after a slow start, which I tried this year as it is supposed to be blight resistant, and it looks healthy, but I haven't had a big blight problem this year. It's not particularly tasty raw, but cooks well.Roma is about 8 foot tall, covered in flowers up at the top, but hardly set any fruit earlier in the season , probably rain keeping insects away. Hope the frost doesn't come too early!
