Eschallots Grise in Sainsbury's - Can You Plant Them?
they will only go to seed, not split,i tried it myself 3 years ago,you could plant a couple for the seed heads, and grow some the year after,i believe there is a thread in existance about this somewhere on here,
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these
From what I've read, they're treated with a growth inhibitor. If we could work out a way of removing this...........? Would a good scrub do it or a soak in some solution or other? Any ideas??/

Seriously, maybe if you could find organic shallots you might have a chance but otherwise.........
Funny that................I've just been stringing the ones I've grown this evening for storage................
