....I've recently bought a few Cauliflower and Calabrese plants. Am I ok to plant them on the allotment now or should I keep them in pots for the winter to plant out in the spring?
Thanks.
You are safe to plant them out, making sure they are used to being outside first. I would spend a afew days leaving them out during the day and bringing them in at night before planting.
Are they very big? Which type of calabrese/cauliflour are they? They might not do much until next spring though.
Hope that helps
I've go all my brassica's out and they're all doing very well so far. It may be worth putting some cauliflower's under cover which I will be doing tomorrow.
My cabbages are huge and not supposed to be ready until spring! I guess they will slow down now that the weather is cooling and the days are shortening.
Calabrese will be killed by frost methinks unless its actually broccoli? Cauliflowers, one type of which is named 'All Year Round' can be planted...................well I'll let you work that one out!

Lunar allotments, now there's a thought. S'pose they've got a bit better chance on an allotment in Greenland. Come back Moose, I really am curious now about where you are
