Best green when ripe tomato?

I'd like to try out a GWR variety next season and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good one. I'm particularly interested in absinthe, but can't seem to find a vendor online.

I tried Green Zebra for the first time this year. Bearing in mind the awful weather I was quite happy with harvest.

It produce's a nice green and yellow striped tom of average size with a good bite.

I shall certainly give it another go next year and hope for better weather so that I can get a better idea of what it is capable of.

I grew a black tomato of some description this year. It looked bladdy awful and I was about to feed them to the chooks, until I had a taste of it.Really sweet and luscious!
Needless to say, I kept the best one for seed for next years crop.

Potstubsdustbins, how would you describe the taste of green zebra? It seems to be a love it or hate it Tom from what I've read.

No problem, Snadger. I'm also trying out blacks next season. So far Black cherry & black Krim are on the list

Green Zebra not as sweet as some but a deffo good tom bite lovely with mature cheddar on toast. SWMBO really liked it to.

I also did black cherry for the first time this year and was not disappointed at all.

One good thing, I found they both mature later than my Sungold and Tumbler which has prolonged the season for me. In fact I am still picking the occasional Green Zebra.

Green Velvet very nice, but orange when ripe, with vivid green insides...

Green Sausage is nice too, not too acid, not too sweet - just about "right". Compact bush plants too, so an added bonus.

Many Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'd like a sweet tasting gwr tomato. Just reading people's description of them as 'sweet yet spicy' makes my mouth water!
