I have never been sucessful with over wintered onions so this year I have started them off in modules in the tunnel. The question is when do I put them out in the plot?
Thanks in advance

As long as they aint rootbound they can stay in modules. When you do plant them out you may have to harden them off if left until mid winter.
I've got some in modules indoors and some in a couple of cold frames outdoors. Come spring I'll just take the top glass off as I did last year.

Last year I started mine in modules outdoors 10th of Oct and planted them out 15th Nov. We had a weirdly warm Oct/Nov last year. This year I planted them all directly out last weekend, although the weather is much wetter and cooler this time around.

Thanks for the replys folks. I think that I will plant them out in a week or two. I am going to try them on ridges as you do for shallots in the hopes that it will keep them dryer and reduce the rotting.
