I don't think I've posted this in the right place and I know they're not edible, but I was wondering how your Conkers have been this year and if anyone else has a similar contest.
    .
Here's a vid of my Allotment World Championship Conker Contest.

It's gotta be done,30 years after last playing it was hillarious to do.

Painful, very painful but a right laugh none the less..

Please have a look at my Veg Growing Diary.

    Thanks.

Great to watch. I miss picking up conkers for the kids, I love the smooth shinyness (is that a word?) of the skins when they first come out of their cases.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

chestnuts = conkers. Roast chestnuts are edible. Dunno if its a different variety from the horse chestnuts mind

Conkers = Horse chestnuts = inedible
Roast chestnuts = Sweet chestnuts = sometimes edible if well cooked - otherwise inedible!
