Can anybody tell me please what these berries are, they are on our recently manured (Horse manure) plot.

Are they definitely berries - with a seed inside? Otherwise it looks more like a fungi to me - or even eggs! -
I was thinking there more like eggs to as VC said if there berries then i would not want to taste them

Someone may have tossed them there or a large bird/animal may have dropped a cluster. Look at the surrounding plots to see if any others have them growing there. If you find them growing nearby, examine the plant for clues and ask fellow plot owners if they know what they are.The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies.

Unknown Berries
Thanks must admit haven't touched them yet as not sure if poisonous or not but as soon as rain stops will go out to garden to check on themComment

Not sure if the colour is accurate on your photo, but they look lilac/purple. Is that accurate?Comment

They look very much like a fungus. At this time of year they'll colonize just about any rotting organic matter and they can appear overnight.Comment
