i have just sieved out the chicken run and have an amazing looking medium. it consists of chicken poo, a year old leaf mould which the chickens shredded and soil. my question is whats the best thing to do with it. mulch, potting compost or add to current beds.

I think that you should compost it for a year as some of the chicken poo could be a bit fresh before adding it to the beds.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet -
You should be OK adding it to vacant beds and letting it rot down over winter. I don't suppose you'll be doing much potting at this time of year so leave it to compost down as roitelet says and it should be reasonable come next spring.Comment
