We had a lovely time! Seeds were shared and we will be meeting up again in March to decide who is going to save what and the best ways to save each type of seed.

And hi to Phil the Shed and family that came along.

      Glad it went well.

Please let us know in plenty of time about the next meet so that we can diary it.

Nottingham and Derby Seed Circle - Gro at Bulwell Hall Community Gardens

We have the second meeting booked; this one will include a training session on aspects of seed saving.

If you want to come please let me know before turning up! We have to make sure there is space for everyone and that we bring enough consumables...

I've only just seen this as its been sooo long since I've been on the vine. Without meaning to sound a bit dense, what does a seed saving circle actually involve? Is it just a case of growing something specific, letting it go to seed then collecting said seed & re-distributing to the group? I don't have much experience of seed saving myself but it is something I may be interested in as I hope to get a lot more gardening done this year.

Sounds interesting, but without sounding dumb, I'm not sure whereabouts you are. I live just outside Derby so are you close by to me?

If you click on the link, it shows our website - which is at Bulwell Hell Community Gardens. Which is in Bulwell Hall, Nottingham. It's close by Moor Bridge Tram stop, and I'll be sending out joining instructions for people who tell me they are coming.

Can we still come if we don't have seeds to swap? I only have half opened shop bought packets. I don't want to be turned away at the door by someone saying "you've got no seeds, you're not coming in".

Yes - this is to decide who is going to save what in the circle, the seed swap is just an aside and will probably be part of every event we host.

We are really sorry but due to circumstances beyond our control, one of which is a vicious stomach bug which we do not want to pass around - the events today at Bulwell Hall Community Gardens are having to be postponed.

We will be rehosting these events sometime in April, when we hope that the weather is better as well.
