      Declare that winter's best of all;
      And after that there's nothing good
      Because the spring-time has not come ---
      Nor know that what disturbs our blood
      Is but our longing for the tomb.

      One of my favourite poems...
      I like it until the last line - that's too depressing

        I like it 'cos it's the perfect description of 'wishing your life away' and each time I reach the last line it jolts me out of wishing for tomorrow, back into today.

          I think I'd rather do without those jolts - getting too old for that

              Took most of mine out today, one left in the greenhouse now...Yellow plum summit or other...
              Threw a few salad tubs into it, see what happens.....
              I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
