I use those trays of 40 - but I ditch the trays and just use the pots. I get them at Asda/Morrisons for £2.99 though.
I sow up to about 40 toms or chillis in each one, and they go into the heated prop, and once cracked taken out, and once they have 2 true leaves, potted on into a pot of their own.
Don't bother with the tray - just buy the pots and an ordinary seed tray or gravel tray (without holes). Buy 9cm Bosmere Planting Pots - Pack of 18 at The Range (this is another misleading advert but it should be 18 pots for £2.99 - I think)

You're quite set on the trays, aren't you? Trouble with The Range (and other retailers like them) is they aren't garden centres: things look pretty, but don't necessarily do the job.
Looking at those, I'd say that once loaded with compost, esp. wet compost, that tray is going to bend, split and drop everything on the floor.
Get thee to a Wilkinsons Sale, and pick up gravel trays for 40p each, and a stack of square pots for about the same.

It's a bit early for Wilkinsons to be stocking garden stuff, they're full of Chrimbo rubbish at the mo. But they will have plenty of stock by the time you need to be sowing seeds.
