Can anyone help me - my sweetcorn seeds are being eaten before they have time to even start growing no other seeds in the greenhouse have been touched. What do I do to stop what ever is doing it. thankyou Jan.

I would be pretty sure that it would be mice.

    They absolutely love'em.

The problem is that you don't just get one mouse, so get a trap in there and bait it with cheese, chocolate or sweetcorn seed.

    Darren.

Every year mice get mine in the greenhouse so now start them off in the workshop.

Even with a baited trap (I bagged 6) they munched through 90% of the seed.

Thanks - I was hoping someone would say soak them in something or other, to stop them being to their liking. I cannot put anything down incase the grandchildren find it. jan

try the live traps with peanut butter really worked with the mice for us!
just take them for a long drive and let them out.
          Yo an' Bob
          Walk lightly on the earth
          take only what you need
          give all you can
and your produce will be bountifull

Put the plants in a chicken wire cage. The wire is self supporting so does not require a frame or use 2 litre plastic bottles as clotches.(Oh,and get a cat)
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!

Yes, I would love a cat, but my husband wouldn't. But the kestrel, if only..... then I would be sitting, just watching. So the mice would stay away from my seeds because they would be afraid to come out because of me being there. Thanks for the help. I am going to try the chicken wire. Jan.
