Wow! For various reasons, I haven't logged on for several months. And now I find all these replies! Thanks, all. Can't say I've ever had much trouble with brassicas before (apart from the usual slugs & caterpillars), but I seem to have been doomed this year. After the flea beetles had done their worst, I now find some of my winter and spring cabbage and most of my sprouts are covered in unsightly white nodules. The actual 'sprouts' have been replaced, in many cases, with wierd white lumps or hooks. Also, the plants range in height between about a foot and two feet tall. I'm thinking some kind of fungal infection but can't find anything like it in any of my gardening books. Any thoughts?
