Bought them from amishlandseeds last year. Sowed on Feb 19th and was a lot quicker to set fruit than loads of other types. Its a bush type, grew to nearly 3ft. Though the amishland notes said 18 inches!

Not sure Bramble, I know you can get LED grow lights but I don't know if they're different from ordinary ones. Might be worth asking in Mally's Home made Grow Lights thread, there seemed to be some people with more knowledge than me posting in there

Depends on the colours of the leds. You need a mixture of blues and reds.

Oh dear! I wanted it to stay small so it can grow in my new cloche-thingy *sulk*

Yeah I remember thinking there would have been extra pack from the seed swap, but I was still pleasantly surprised to see them in the vsp list the other day.

Not really thought about it growing too tall, but in hindsight I did have it on the floor in the greenhouse with lots of tall toms so perhaps it was stretching for the light!

Done the research & the previously unknown big blackish one is definitely ...... Noire de Crimee ..

If my saved seeds (first attempt) germinate I will get some into the VSP's

Don't see why they wouldn't germinate, tomatoes are quite obliging like that ......

today I've sown some Amish, Kibits , Marmande and Banana Legs ....

Half a dozen seedlings pricked out into small cell tray last night A few more have germinated but are struggling to shed the seed casing. Is that down to it being old seed do we think? The ones that are potted up are under the lights now No sign of any chillis yet

We have 2/3 germinated, resisting temptation to help them shuck the seed casing...
