I prefer to keep them smallish so that when they go out into the warm greenhouse in March/April they steam ahead.

Otherwise I'd not have any room indoors for actually growing them.

The queen of growing indoor tomatoes is VVG. Never seen anything like it!

I have plenty of room indoors (in the house, I mean) for growing them on as I have a large area with an all glassfront that I can use in Feb and early March and they sit on a floor with underfloor heating.
Worked well last year and with the weather the way it was and me delaying putting up my greenhouse, they were still there at end May !!
Only problem this year is my 18 month old son is now mobile and very destructive so, they will have to go on tables...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

      • Mine were in the conservatory all wrapped up with a fleece blanket. With all this cold yucky weather they looked a bit sad and the temp in there seems to be not much above freezing. So they have had to be moved into the spare room on a temporary heath robinson type table by the window. Anyway just checked on them and they look a lot happier.

          • Aubs are in the kitchen with no heat ......think the conservatory has just got too much glass at the moment for them . I'll move 'em back in a few degrees.......

            • Sine tomatoes are perennial in their homeland, has anyone tried keeping the plants going for a few years? I expect productivity would decline after a few years.

              • Got some overwintering but they are cuttings . They get pretty tall over the summer so I should think space inside to keep them going could be difficult....
