onions from seed in northern england

Hi.
I live in Manchester and I want to grow onions from seed, which I havent done before.
I have a small heated propagator and a polytunnel.
What date should I start germinating, and when should I move them on?

Thats wierd, i planted the same variety in a heated propogator last week. Most of them have germinated. Are you growing/planting anything else at the minute?

I don't have a heated propagator but i sowed them in pots in the dining room on the 12th Jan but nothing yet but it is my first time

I don't either,put the pots into a poly bag,near a heat sauce,just as good for the odd few pots,

Nice idea, i have no idea why i didn't think of that i use them on other seeds!!!

Hi just put some peppers in just to see how they will grow not sure if its a bit early
