The grass has been cut today - only the 2nd time this year. It just hasn't been growing. I expected more leaves to be on the trees too but everything is very slow. The kiwi fruit on the left is preparing itself to overwhelm me again

Everything is a bit greener and it looks as though spring might have sprung, in spite of the cold wind. We are eating PSB and rhubarb and now the asparagus spears are beginning to appear.

I have to keep my plot neat and tidy now I'm on the committee. I'd just had a 15 min hoe round and a little sweep up.

Views 19th May

Definitely greener now but still waiting for the oak (left), ash (centre covered in ivy) and apple, (right) to leaf up fully. The kiwi vine on the left is becoming a pest again, with dangling doodahs that grab you by the throat as you walk past.

Major changes ;

Neighbours overshadowing fir tree felled
Frame & netting up for sweet peas
Frame for climbing beans up
Planted out,sweet peas,dahlia's,red epicure broad beans,mange tout & dwarf french beans.

Two shots from today, one from the same place and one across the top patio.

Top patio is starting to look a little better, peas with plenty of pods on, new spuds well on the way, calabrese and onion sets starting to take off and finally the first of the runners.

Lots of new growth to be seen. Unfortunately, nothing grows as fast as the weeds. I've added a shot from the other end of the allotment just to show a few more crops. I'm afraid the garden pic is over-exposed but no chance to take another.
