Ok Koky, this spring weather is throwing me out so thought I had better make an effort before summer arrives. Not a lot of difference to January I'm afraid. The kite is still standing....Just!...........if anybody is thinking of buying one of these, I'm about to put some advice on the 60 Squid thread.

I'm a plank.posted this already but in the wrong thread ...................
Whoops, even later than intended ,instead of a ground level view of the plot,I shall hence forth take it from the garage roof & with that in mind,on the 17th it looked like ......
I went down my new allotment today and took my first photos! They are only on the phone and a bit shaky because it was freezing - we had the entire site to ourselves.
Here's the view from the bottom (West) end of the plot:
The top of the plot is where the brambles are hiding a fallen-down shed. Unfortunately I was told before I got the keys that another plotholder has dibs on the shed, but the hard standing it used to be on looks in reasonable shape for me to molish a replacement.
You can't see them very well in the picture but there are three young fruit trees on the North (left) side of the plot. The committee man told me that they are on my plot and therefore mine, but I dare say the chap on the next plot over who has been edging over and probably planted them will have different ideas. A chance to practice diplomacy I feel.
Here's a view from the top (East) of the plot looking back down:
Next door's shed is at the bottom of his plot, mine finishes in line with that. Note the raised beds all ready for use ... well nearly...
The magnificent weeping willow at the bottom shouldn't cast any significant shade being as it's outside the north west corner; hopefully the tree gets most of its water from the river Ravensbourne which is a few yards further down.
Water supply is a bit of a pain, it's all further up the hill. But I reckon hosepipe and gravity will drive a syphon quite nicely.
So there it is. Maybe a little bit of work to get it shipshape, but it's going to be fun.
Perfect first photos Martin, now you can work the plot & watch it progress over the coming months.

Keep posting photos as you go. It's a shame the plot has been allowed to get into a bad condition but a bit of effort little and often will let you see progress in a short time.
oh, and even if you have to surrender possession of the fruit trees, don't surrender possession of the ground they are on if that is part of your plot.
