Seed Germination temperatures

Some useful charts that show how variations in soil temperature influence the length of time a seed takes to germinate. Steps of Seed Germination: Part2 Seed Germination Process
For example, a tomato seed will take 48 days to germinate at 50F but only 6 days at 77F, also that it will not germinate below 50F or above 95F.
Deep down, I've always known this in principle but seeing it set out like this has made me realise the impact of indoor sowing.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. Will have to convert to Celcius as that's about the only measure I think in metric. As resisting getting out the propagator but with an empty room while eldest at uni it's a tempting prospect. Have onions and seet peas in unheated greenhouse think I might have to bring them in for a warm up!

Helpfully for those of us who do think in new money it seems the table must originally have been constructed in centigrade as the columns translate to 0 - 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 - 40 degrees respectively.
