They had produced long top growth and flowers - but they are empty in the bottom department - how very odd!

      Has anyone experienced this?
Possibly because you allowed them to flower, it is usually recommended to remove the flowers as they appear. - a pity really, but that may be the answer.

This season why not try a couple in very large pots - I had a reasonable crop using this method, with the bonus that they were nice and clean when dig out. My outside crop, was OK with about 3lbs per plant from 4 plants.

I had 4 or 5 tubers from VC. Duly planted up in a large trug, as I wasn't sure where I wanted them. I've had nothing from them - just finger thickness roots, that look like they were the start of the tubers

          Hum, not just me then!

I've grown them successfully in the past, without taking the flowers off - maybe that was just luck. The (non)crop in question was grown in at the new lottie, so maybe it was down the crappola soil.
