Gardeners delight is one I always grow, simply for the taste and reliability but I try a few new ones each year. Actually I've gone a bit overboard this year and have eleven new ones to try...not sure if i'll get round to all of them as I still have to find room for the usual suspects. Interestingly I found Amish Paste to be rather bland straight from the plant but it does make good sauce/puree.

Just one variety, I don't think any serious grower could have just one favourite tomato.
For munching from the vine Sungold.
For cheese on toast Black Cherry as recommended by a grape last year.
For large crop fair taste and staying power Tumbler.
For salads all the above plus Green Zebra.
The list goes on.

my favourite tomato because it is a great all rounder is Principe Borghese, lovely in salads, lovely grilled, and yummy in sauces as the skin removes easy and is easy to deseedIf you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Marcus Tullius Cicero

Gardener's Delight..the name says it all really!! Just evokes the whole summer thing, pottering around and walking by the plant and grabbing a few to chew on....and then the kids grab another few whilst they think you are not looking!!
Sunbelle Yellow Plum is a nice sweet yellow...Last edited by Tripmeup; 01-02-2013, 10:23 AM.I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Sungold and black cherry always a firm favourite in our house.
Just bought a packet of tamina seeds. Has anyone grown this and is it worth the effort?

In the glory of the garden.

It has to be Sungold for me, they produce loads toms, but very little leaf growth, so the toms ripen quickly, increasing the amount of toms that you get! They are also the sweetest tomato i've ever grown, so thats the reasons why i grow them every year, and they never fail to impress me!

Last year was my first time gardening and I grew 5 varieties. The only one making a return is Sungold. Sweetest and most productive tom so far.
