  • Seedling Identification

This was in with my Brandywine Sudduth seeds and it doesn't look like the other seedlings.

Do any of you have any ideas what it could be?

A different type of tomato? A potato Leaved one. Could still be a brandywine, just one that has crossed a little or thrown out a quirk. What do the others look like?

Thanks AP, the seed looked like a tomato seed though.

It does look a bit like a tomato, as they have hairy stems! Will you grow it on to see?

Yeah, it looks like a potato leaved tom; this sometimes happens with large toms, they cross and you get quirks.

If it tastes good, remember to save from it.

Yeah looks mostly like a potato leaved tom to me. Where were the seeds from. Self saved or shop bought?

The seeds were from the VSP

It does look quite potato leaf like, right enough. It's quite exciting, I'll definately be growing it on, I can't wait to see what I get from it

or the seed might have somehow found its way into the wrong packet
shouldn't happen but when handling several varieties, who knows.
I'm always afraid I might overlook the odd seed in the sieve when I empty those mouldy glasses...

(no it wasn't my Brandywine packet )
...bonkers about beans... and now a proud Nutter!

                        LOL Nellie

I'm happy to have it, I like the idea of not knowing and watching it over the coming months to see what happens

It looks almost like an Aubergine LOL - potatoes, toms, aubs they're all the same family so they can look similar can't they.........
