good timing

well,i have been busy for the last month,been getting earache to decorate,so over last 4 weeks i have done the whole house,and now just in time i am free to concentrate on the veg patch,so in the morning i shall be getting all the seeds together and start sowing,in silence,no "that needs painting" or the like,now whose a happy boy then

Blimey, you can do the whole house in 4 weeks, it took me almost 2 weeks to just do our box room and am expecting our bedroom (which I'm doing next) to take longer than that!

all the walls are in good nick,so no papering,used 28ltrs of emulsions and 3ltrs of door/skirting board paint,you should have seen us,both have trouble with walking/balance,so sometimes we were both stuck on our knees,trying to get up.tomorrow i will be sowing my peppers first,to go into the new hothouse/old chook house so now starts the growing year,hopefully the bad weather forecast will miss us again....fingers crossed..

Garden comes first I'm afraid! The house can wait. As long as it's dry and draught free, that's good enough. Well done on sorting the whole thing inside a month, it took us about three months to do our last place top to bottom, and I lost the will to live by the end of it. I really dislike painting. Still, it's done now, so get on and enjoy your planting up

one thing that made it harder was that the ceilings are 11ft up as the cottage was built in 1886,after a complete destructive fire in 2008,we have all new walls,so no need to use paper to cover messy walls or the like,so with 2 long handled rollers we just kept going,weather was rubbish so now was the time to do it.today we have our first really sunny day,so the lid is off the propagator to encourage the seeds to catch up,peppers have yet to show but they have only been in days...
