How not to chit potatoes

I forgot about these ones that have lay in a drawstring potato bag that is blacked out, looks like the chits were all heading towards the pinhole of light at the drawstring end. oops. They were totally shrivelled up and ended up in the bin.

Thankfully the ones from my TPS experiment that were stored in the same type bags but in the salad drawer of the fridge, were dechitted a few weeks ago and are still nice and firm.

I think you should take them out of the bin.
They'll grow.

Aye, nip these sprouts off and set them up as you have the others. They will be fine

p.s. these haven't chitted they have sprouted. You are looking to achieve a chit of a sprout. Not That I needed to tell you that mind

Get out the bin and prepare them again,they will be fine,

I did the opposite one year and left them on the bench of my potting shed. We then had an unseasonably hot spring ( remember the days) and they cooked. Not realising they were cooked I planted them and when they didn't grow had to investigate under the soil to find rotten spuds. Yuck!
