We seem to have lots of that barrier fencing stuff from building sites on our site, it's about 6ft tall and long.
I bought 2 garden arches in a sale at Wilkinson's 2 years ago, set them apart and fastened canes between them, still going strong

I asked Mr VVG to build me a munty frame. I drew him a picture and he told me that all on the lotty had "bean" very interested, whilst he was there. As soon as I saw it I knew why. When I am not growing beans up it I can practice the parallel bars on it

Get the polythene out. That would make a huge coldframe until the beans are ready to go out..............

My next door neighbour has about 4 huge bamboo plants so I get regular fresh canes from him the best of which are about 9-10 ft... I've also bought 2 cheap broken box garden arches to use this year too... My friend is a builder and has let me have cracked bits of timber and old pipes which I'm going to use too

These all look fab! Lots of great ideas for re-using items as well

Does anybody else have photos of their frames?

I suppose a truly environmentally friendly way to create your own supports would be to grow your own bamboo. Some black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra) would look good while growing, then be useful for at least a few years for bean supports.
