Grow bags for 2013

I'm trying to decide on which grow bags I should use this year.

Last year I used the £1 grow bags from B&Q but have not seen them in there this year, which is a shame because they performed pretty well..

I will grow some stuff in Morrisons Flower Buckets, but require about 10 grow bags to use my tomato collars, which I've found a lot less hassle in recent years regarding watering, especially for cucumbers too as its easy to keep the base of the plant fairly dry.

So, any recommendations of good VALUE grow bags. Ideally they'll be £1 each, but I'd happily pay £2 if they're going to be twice as good.

I've just bought some from Aldi @ £1.29 a bag but as yet I have not opened them......Sorry.

I usually buy the better quality growbags. Mind you, we don't know what is in any of them do we. Could be where next a horse content is discovered

Is it my memory failing or are growbags less plump than they used to be? Are they trying to keep the price down by giving you less?

They may be more compressed VC but the obvious answer lies in the volume.

I'm sure I used to struggle carrying a growbag around, now its like carrying an old pillow. Just doesn't seem to have the "body".

the content truly is a con. They all refer to volume when originally packed. How can anyone prove what that volume was?

I bought a load of the wilko 99p bags for adding to the beds as its my first allotment i wanted to add something for this growing season next year i will be adding my home made compost/manure

24 lts & they were £1.49 or 6.2p per lt sorry.

Sometimes the contents are damp so weigh more because you're paying for water
I wish there was consistency of weight and quality for all composts. Instead you buy on trust as you can't see what's in the bags until you get them home. Where's my soapbox?

The Verve ones are not yet in. I asked yesterday. Expected imminently I was told. They will probably be in the price region of other Growbags. I can't remember how much I paid - they were on some sort of offer. Something for 5 I think. I like them for growing in so will stick with what I find performs for me.
