In the photo you can see a bed with a low hinged debris cage on it, it is 8' x 2'6". Last year I had strawbs in it but because it runs east/west, my neighbours shed cast a shadow on the bed & wasn't very productive. I'm toying around with using it as a carrot bed this year but am unsure as to whether they mind some shade. As always, advice greatly appreciated.

I grow calabrese and spring cabbbage in a well shaded bed and have never had any probs, but you might have to lift your netting.
