Are. They. Still. Alive? (Not going to continue that way of typing!)
But have they gotten bigger? More stalks? Anything new.

                  Need. New. Information! :P

Ps; started mine a couple of days ago. Just a top in a pot but it's a start. Bottom is Bumpy already, but no actual roots as such yet.

They're still alive The base one looks very healthy, the leaves on the stalk one are a bit withered but the plant itself is fine.
I put more stalks in water but none of them have rooted yet - also the base which has little green nobbles but no roots yet either.
                    Keep the faith

I put 2 stalks with basal plate attached into water. One grew a huge mass of roots and a couple of new shoots out of the top. The other just one root. They are both outside in the garden now and look fine. Can't wait to see what happens.
On another note I grew a ginger root it did really well, when I harvested it it was maybe 6x the size I started with so froze some cubes of it and have just used the last of it up

I saw an 8" tall celery y'day, in a pot, which had been grown from a stump.

It certainly is easier than trying to grow celery from seed

Here are my 2 today, stump on the left, stalk on the right!
Stump putting on new growth, stalk just about holding its own. About to be joined by another stump with shoots but no roots. Time to do some weeding too methinks
