had quite a good result last year from my elephant garlic, swmbo loves it as its easier to peel, and i'm a big fan as the bulbs grow nice and big with minimal effort.
the cost of seed garlic is prohibitive however at around a pound a clove so I kept back about a third of my crop for replanting this year.So far so good .they went in in november and are now about 8 inches high.
when harvesting last years crop I also had 50-60 bulbils and was told if I planted these I would get full size bulbs in 1-2 years.so far no show so today had a bit of a furtle,of the 10 or so I actually found none are shooting and all appear dead ,like empty nutshells filled with clear jelly like snot.any idea what went wrong .they are in the same bed as the saved cloves.
