this is my first time growing celeriac and so far so good, they have been transplanted to individuals pots and i noticed today a 3rd leaf growing. they are in a self watering container so they are kept quite wet, i hope i am doing the right thing in keeping them wet, i know they are a bog plant but was wondering if the seeds need so much water?

I didn't know they were a bog plant! No wonder they were the only thing to do well in last year's floods.Proud Member of the Celery Stalk Nutters Club

They look really good - mine are just a few MM high in a seed tray, not separated and potted them individually yet.
Water , water, and more water is what they like - and don't forget the leaves can be harvested as they grow and added to salads or soups, just a strong celery taste.
Keep us up to date with developments.

well the update on my celeriac is they are growing really well, still in the window sill in the lounge, the one's that i put outside in the greenhouse are not growing, i now have 4 leaves on mine sitting in the window, they sit in water practically really soggy soil, but they seem to like it. when ever we get some sun and warmer weather i will put them out to the greenhouse. We have been lucky that we have not had any snow, but lots of frosty mornings.Rita

I do not use the whole packets because I just have to grow for myself. If you want to try them, I can send to you a few seeds.

I have grown celeriac and it is worthwhile if you have the room... Need to keep them wet ( not to hard in Ireland) and little if any pest problems... Can be left in the ground too during the winter ..
I like making chips out of them and roasting in the oven.. DelishI dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
...utterly nutterly
