    Welsh Onion or Tree Onion

    I have today bought a pot of something called Welsh Onion, however upon reaching home the small label, in the pot itself, says tree onion. It's got green shoots coming off some woody bits - picture on Twitter - so Welsh onion or tree onion. I am rather hoping it's the latter, not that I have anything against Welsh onions but Mr VVG killed my tree onion that Zaz gave me.

    I have the latter for you again, and it looks just like the one in that pot!

      maybe Welsh Tree onion.
      Heard its a bit like the walking onions but the welsh has seed heads instead.

        Fankoo, I will put them both in and not let Mr VVG anywhere near this time. Have just eaten a bit of leafy green and it's very fiery.

            Sorry but this is a bit of a non thread for those of us not on twitter Care to share the pic'with us ?

            In the meantime,Welsh Onion (Ciboule) looks to all intents & purposes like a Spring Onion.

                Not really. It's a faff it looks like a red bottomed, woody necked spring onion with green chive like leaves coming off it.
