potting on deep?

I was wondering:

When I plant my chilli's on, nice and deep in a new pot.

Is there any reason why I could not remove the seed leaves first? As this will allow me to pot around an inch deeper...

Don't remove them, just plant deeper. I always plant up to the first true leaves if I can.

I would say either or personally. I ended up taking some of my seed leaves off as they were nigh falling off anyway and like you said, it will allow you to plant deeper. A few of my varieties had got quite leggy so I potted them right up to the first set of true leaves.

As we are on the subject of potting up I was wondering what I should do with my aubs.

Due to (on my fault) a lack of light for a few days they have got very leggy (3 inches) and was wondering as they only have seed leaves at the moment should I transplant them now anyway and bury upto the seed leaves.

They are quite leggy and a couple are keeling over.
