  • onions again !

    Hi all
Query with regards to onions grown from seed. They are now about 2" tall, I have them in a seed tray, due to not having any modules at the time. Would it be worth transplanting them to in to individual pots, or should I just leave them where they are and plant them out whenthe weather warms up ?

    Thanks.

The trouble is the longer you leave them in the seed tray the more the roots will get tangled.

I would say pot them up but having said that I have trayful of red onions which I will plant out directly when the weather improves.

I would pot them on if you have time/space, you are going to have to seperate them at some point and if you do it now they will have time develop more before you plant them out.

Forgot to add that if you let the modules dry out slightly, you will be able to take out plant without damaging roots!
