mmmmmm thanks for that one VC, blummin loveley, made some earlier with Daubentons. Great on their own but I can see them being useful as a garnish much in the same way as sage crisps, maybe topping a risotto, omelette or cheesy mash.

Do you think kale crisps would work with chard?

Just tried. Ok. Tastes like crispy seaweed from a Chinese Restaurant. No surprise since that's just fried greens. Anyway, chard is thinner than kale so it stuck to the plate really badly! I'll experiment further with times. I'm guessing a shorter time will yield better results.
Like someone else said, this would be nice on top of a risotto or pasta dish etc.

                  The varieties are:-
                  Dwarf green curled
                  Jersey Walking Stick
                  Curly Scarlet
                  Westland Winter
                  Nero di Toscana
                  Ragged Jack
                  Red Russian
                  Asparagus
                  Tall
                  Sutherland
                  Cottagers
                  Daubenton
                  Madeley.

I have Red Ursa and True Siberian on order from Real Seeds but was too late for East Friesian Palm Kale so, if anyone has a couple of spare seeds of this I would be eternally grateful

Is anyone else growing kale - or am I the only kale nutter here?
PS I've also sown Asturian tree cabbage, Portuguese cabbage and various sprouts and broccolis that I intend to treat as pick-a-leaf too
I have some East Friesian and happy to send some- wish I had seen post before. Let me know how to send VC.
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

No need though, as I have some now. I feel another kale sowing fest coming on soon

A couple of photos of some of the Kales sown 2 years ago (at the beginning of this thread). Don't ask me which ones - at a rough guess HSL's Tall and Madeley kale and the Walking Stick kale. There's a white veined one in there too. The bees and insects love the flowers so I'm glad I left them to bolt
