I've grown plants on in seed compost before, because that was all I had at the time, last year and this year.
Leaves were fine, no yellowing or wilting.

My toms at present are in seed compost in 9" pots. One lot is getting watered with tomato fertiliser but the one I gave to my parents is not getting any additional feed because I forgot to take them any. All the plants are doing fine. In fact I'm wondering what the point in me using fert on my toms is when theirs is doing just as well in terms of number of flowers and fruit (Latah toms have set fruit already)

Up until this year I used seed compost but this year I dropped it out because its more expensive and you get less for your money. I use vermiculite and mpc for seed sowing and perlite and mpc for potting on.
