          • I thought you had disappeared! Everything ok? My chillies that performed the best were last years. Can you take them in and over winter them?

                    • I sowed 10 basket of fire seeds. Only 2 germinated. And they both died at only 1 inch tall!!!!

                      • Not a great year for chillies for me. None of my overwintered plants survived, and only one of this year's planing germinated - and I planted a bit late, so it's only just starting to fruit now. Having said that, the one emergency chilli plant I bought pre-germinated has had a bumper crop, and provided far more chillies than we can use.

This suggests that perhaps I grow more chilli plants than I actually need to! Think I'll concentrate on sweet peppers next year, as we use more of them than chilli peppers anyway. The glass greenhouse has helped - had 3 or 4 reasonable sized sweet peppers off one plant this year.

                        • here are a few pics of mine, that I took this morning.

Some of them are starting to yellow a bit. But plenty of fruit on there.

                          • Hey guys

Newbie here but had my first go at growing chillies this year, so this is my Jalapeno plant at the moment, going strong with lots of lovely fruit coming along as you can see

                            • Hi guys, just started growing chillies this year, growing them under lights as the temperature at the minute is dropping fast but thy don't seem to be growing very fast, it's only since I got 4x 65 watt grow bulbs I've seen any progress, aside from my jalapeño which is 3 inches and started flowering the others look a bit stunted

                              • Well, it's getting to the end of the fruiting season now, when did you sow them? Generally, I start mine off jan/feb for a harvest around September - give or take few weeks! If you over winter them they usually fruit much earlier...
