I bought some growpots last year. My poor tomatoes (until I get my polytunnel) are raised in a stone potting shed with a polycarbonate roof. I raised Latah tomatoes in growpots in growbags. They did very well. In fact I had to go away for a week and they even survived that.
I'm planning on using them again this year - otherwise I wouldn't have any tomatoes at all. The weather is too chilly up here for outdoor tomatoes.
I've used themxfor a few years and did a comparison last year. 1 bag? 2 bags? Growpots? No growpots? And I found the best combo to be 3 toms per one growbag all in growpots, in terms of space, yield and cost.
I even bought more so now I have enough for all my toms.
They also make watering and feeding really easy.
I would recommend you get ones with zigzag bottomsxtho as they make it super easy to cut holes in the grow bag.
You will still get a decent crop without, but IMO they're worth the money in time saved on maintainance.
The more help a man has in his garden, the less it belongs to him.
