  • lettuce problems

My lettuce have been doing very well, until I noticed this discolouration on the edges of some leaves

Any ideas what the cause could be?

    Cheers

Looks like it got lightly frosted to me but I may be wrong.

P.S - I looked out on Sunday and the whole garden was white at 5am, by 6.30am all the frost had gone so it may have come and gone before you saw it.

Looks like they're indoors (? greenhouse). Probably too hot, and there looks to be a lot of water. Lettuce need cooler temperatures and lots of fresh air.

Looks like to much water to me, your compost looks very wet.

i think you were right. As I just got home, the compost/soil has dried out a fair bit, and the lettuces are now back to looking normal!

Those marks around the edges have gone!

ok, I have not watered at all since lat night. And I just checked them again, and the same thing has happened!

So I would say the morning damp air is somehow getting into the leaf edges, and then drying out as the day heats up...
