Yikes -- best go and check on the carrots that were sitting next door to the coriander...
Actually, that leads to another observation or two:
* coriander is way tougher than I thought. I (accidentally) managed to overwinter a pot. Left it in the greenhouse, as it hadn't really grown enough to eat, then realised that it was still alive in March and has pushed on since.
* I don't usually have much trouble with aphids in the GH. I'm reckoning that this is because something eats them. I still can't figure out what. I've not seem the larvae that are usually said to be predators. Spiders, maybe? Whatever, my guess is they haven't got going yet. Soon they will, I hope.
As a container gardener, I think the most important thing I discovered is that quite a few 'dwarf' vegetable varieties recommended for growing in containers are not as productive as their normal counterparts in the exact same container. This especially applies to all climbing types (e.g beans, tomatoes, peas, mangetout).
