Ready to plant plants

A plot holder told me yesterday that in Normandy he was able to buy 100 leek seedlings ready to plant out for €1.50 and a whole heap of beetroots ready to plant out for €1.

He was in Normandy visiting relatives though rather than making a special trip!

Sounded very cheap and an easy way to save a lot of hassle growing things from seed! His leek seedlings are massive apparently better than the miniscule blades of grass I've got!
(must start some more just to see if they'll catch up within a week!)
