  • Curled privet leaves?

    Hi all

I know this isn't exactly a veg question, but can't find a forum area relating to hedge plants!

So. I planted a privet hedge in March last year, and it's doing pretty well (increasing in height, new leaves sprouting etc.) But some of the older leaves seem to spend most of their time curled up. (See picture). As I said, the plants generally seem healthy apart from the curled leaves (the odd yellow leaf, the odd hole in a leaf) - should I be concerned about this, and is there anything I can do? I'm pretty sure it's not lack of water - I've watered them during the dry spell, and the picture was taken this evening, after a day and a night of heavy rain showers...

    Thanks in advance!

Don't know - could be pests - aphids, leaf miners, could be disease, privet wilt, rust, etc. Or it could be that they are last years leaves, getting ready to drop off in favour of all the new growth coming from each leaf joint.
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.

Thanks, I feared it could be quite a range of things! I looked up privet wilt and I don't think it's that, fingers crossed it it just last year's leaves dropping off to make way for the new ones...
