Mine are looking rubbish. Germinated pretty well back in Feb sometime, but are still moving along at a snails pace. 2inches high and poor leaves. I planted a few in March as a kind of back up, but they're even worse.
I'd convinced myself that this was the year of the aubergine, but alas it isn't looking that way now.Garden Grower

I've managed to produce an aubergine in the veg patch! Well I say *I* have, y'know, the plant has. It's not perfect - you can see the marks on it in the photo, but it's the first time I've succeeded. I tried once before when we lived somewhere with a polytunnel but I had no joy at all, not a sniff of an aubergine. This year the plant - one I picked up as a weeny seedling at a church fete or somewhere - has had a tea bag mulch and been watered when I watered other things, but it's had no special attention. The glorious sunshine this year must have done the job. There are two more flowers and another tiny fruit but I think hoping for more would just be pushing my luck!
Hmm, can't post photos this afternoon >Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
