Hope you don't mind, but outside No 10 with a chest full of gongs, and then your avatar which I think is a WW2 two seater trainer maybe Spit or Hurricane.

Anyway back to your problem of feeding your toms. Have you thought of using controlled release tablets. I have used the Levingtons Tomorite ones with great success in the past. Just stick the right amount in the ground or container and water for the rest of the season. Might make life a little easier.

Hi Cotswold,

As I said the one's I used were Levington Tomorite, todays price is about £5 for 30 tablets. These are not true tablets but small pellets made into a beehive like shape as big as half the length of your thumb.

I grow my toms in large pots so following the instructions I put 3 in each pot and for the rest of the season I just watered with a hose. The pellets slowly release the required amount of nutrients required through out the growing period.

Result a nice crop of toms with very little effort.

I don't measure or ration the feed which my toms (and everything else) gets: everyone gets "a slosh" of seaweed/comfrey tea in the watering can, with every watering (which is every sunny day, but less often on cool cloudy days)
