Mine have been out for a few weeks but I have them inside a plastic blow away inside the greenhouse. Cayennes are fruiting, hotter varieties are growing but no sign if flowers. I also have a large polysterene box that a put a few in overnight but i sometimes forget to get them out first thing! They definitely benefit from being in the greenhouse during the day at least.

Yeah I would love to get them into the greenhouse during the day but as I only have a green house on the allotment it's not a possibility might chance a few next week

I've kept mine on a window ledge indoors as the weather is too unpredictable at the moment and I've got flowers and fruit forming on all apart from Butch T and Jalapeno's at the moment.

This years sowings are still on window ledges, but that is more about preventing them drying out at the rate they would in the greenhouse, as there have been a few warm days dotted amongst the rainy ones. Obviously the bigger the pot the less of a problem that is, so after I pot the plants on in a week or so they'll go into the greenhouse at the next opportunity.

Overwintered, well established plants went into the greenhouse roughly four weeks ago, essentially when the forecast night time temperatures ceased dropping to 0 in my area. Vents have been opened a crack, side windows left closed. I wouldn't consider leaving windows open round the clock for another month or so yet. Any watering is done early morning. In summer, with hopefully hotter conditions, I'll do it in the evening.

A low outside temperature overnight is still going to be a few degrees warmer under glass, and in the short term shouldn't affect your plants, so long as they're not sitting in wet compost. If you want extra insurance, consider propagator trays/lids, or an additional plastic cover as mentioned by Scarlet.

My overwintered Big Jim is the first chilli to flower, and has so far set three fruits, on a plant about 400mm H. I also overwintered a sweet bell pepper for the first time this year, more of an experiment really. That also has first flowers on it.

I have most of mine either in the unheated g/house or in the tunnel. The ones in the g/house have a fleece cover over them, and an auto-vent on the window, which covers both extremes in temp (and the fleece acts as a shade as well) and seem to be doing fine.

Most of mine have been in my unheated greenhouses for at least 3 weeks now..all ok so far..

To my eye, they are not as advanced as the chilli plants were this time last year....No sign of flowers or anything near them yet...

Mine also have been out in the greenhouse for weeks now, toms and aubergine too. Seem to be doing ok although temps have been pretty low at times (around the 2-3 degree mark) We had a light frost on the grass here about 3 days ago but luckily no damage to the plants in the greenhouse.

Can I ask those of you who do have your chillies in the greenhouse are they completely closed overnight or do you leave anything open??

I've brought my chillies back into the conservatory out of the greenhouse, they look healthy but don't seem to be making much progress growing?
Im hoping when the sun does eventually come out they will have a growth spurt!

Mines been in the GH since early March as totally ran out of room
night time they were heated and daily if too cold, fleeced and bubblewrapped or left uncovered
this past weeks fine weather has given them a real spurt on and once nighttime temps get to around 10 degrees we'll be well away

I leave a louvre vent slightly open, or the door open just a tad for a bit of air circulation. Like others I've fleece on standby if temps drop.
