Growing Fennel

Can anyone tell me if its possible to get a store bought fennel bulb to root and grow once the bottom has been sliced off?

Hello Catie and welcome. I haven't tried growing fennel bulbs that way yet, but I've done it with celery by cutting a slice across the base, including the root plate, and putting it in a little water until it roots. then planting it up.
