Okra - anyone want to grow it?

I've tried okra in the past. Growing the plants is straightforward enough, but like others have said getting them to crop is a challenge in itself. My record for one plant was three fruits. Beyond Indian dishes, what else would they go with I wonder... I might try again another time if I had spare space, but don't think I'd allocate space specially for them; they're too unreliable.

I would love to have a go if there are any left. I have five looking really well at the mo and would happily trade some of those in. Read the Real Seeds site to find out how they suggest you get them to crop."A life lived in fear is a life half lived."
PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

i growing some hoping I get lucky this year as the seedlings always fail at the first leaf stage. this year they seem to be ok - seeds were from bangladesh and are doing better that the ones bought over here so fingers crossed. i have them on south facing windowsill but also a couple in greenhouse (unheated) where they are still alive. I planted them in small fibre pots to reduce root disturbance as that is always when they keeled over on previous occasions - after transplanting.
